XBox360 Patch Abandoned for Silent Hill HD Collection

Posted on by H.B. Duran

When it comes to Silent Hill, we’re used to being disturbed, but Xbox360 gamers were probably more so with today’s news about the Silent Hill HD Collection patch. In an official email, we received the following message this afternoon:

“Today, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced that while a PlayStation®3 online title update for Silent Hill HD Collection has been deployed for download via PlayStation®Network, plans for an XBOX®360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources.”

“Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, KONAMI issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the XBOX 360 sku.”

The HD Collection, which includes Silent hill 2 and 3, launched in March to mixed reviews from fans; some complained that the PC versions still had better HD quality, while even more complained of the new voice overs. On the pro side, the gameplay was never altered and you can choose the original voice acting on Silent Hill 2.

If you’re thinking of checking this title out, may we suggest PS3 to prevent frustration from bugs…you’ll get enough of those with James  in a certain room, he he.
